About

David Feehan is an actor and filmmaker originally from St. John’s, NL, now living in Calgary, AB. After graduating from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) and a Diploma in Performance and Communications Media, he worked as an Assistant Producer at the film production company Morag Loves Company. David also served as an Artistic Associate of the theatre company GraveYard Shift Productions, where he produced and acted in several plays.

In 2011, David began independently producing videos for local businesses, not-for-profits, and arts organizations. After collaborating on many projects with Pilot Communications in St. John's, he served as their Creative Director before packing up and moving to the mainland.

As a narrative filmmaker, he has written, produced, and directed several short films. His latest, CAPTCHA, won the Audience Choice Award at the 2023 Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival, and was nominated for Best Short Narrative Film, Best Male Actor (David Feehan) and Best Female Supporting Actor (Catherine Vielguth) at the Central Alberta Film Festival.

Some of his other shorts include BreakIn(g), which won the DC Shorts Screenplay Competition in 2014 and the Audience Choice Award at the Nickel Independent Film Festival in 2015, and Jacob1234, which has recently been picked up by CBC’s Canadian Reflections for broadcast in 2018 and online streaming.

In 2023, he created, wrote, and starred in the short form comedy series Department of Paranormal Affairs, produced by Dept.9 Studios and directed by Michael Peterson. The series will have its broadcast premiere in 2024.

David’s television pilot script, Drop Dead Gorgeous, was a finalist in the 2021 ScreenCraft TV Pilot Script Competition.

David is also a trained actor with a BFA in Acting from the University of Alberta, where he graduated with Distinction. He has acted on stage and appeared on film and television. His credits include This Too Shall Pass (film), The Umbrella Academy (television), and Maudie (film), among others.
